Pediatric dental crowns protect teeth when there is not enough healthy tooth structure remaining for a simple filling to provide a predictable result.
When a crown may be considered
In children, crowns may be considered for teeth with larger cavities, significant structural damage, or other conditions where preserving the tooth is important.
Why baby teeth are worth restoring
Primary teeth are temporary, but they still matter for chewing, comfort, speech, and maintaining space for permanent teeth. A baby tooth that needs to remain for several more years may be worth restoring properly rather than allowing it to become painful or infected. Our office offers cosmetic white crowns that blend with the natural tooth color.
